Dear Colleagues,


On behalf of the Indian Eye Research Group (IERG), and the eye researchers of India, may we welcome you to come and participate in Asia-ARVO 2009, to be held during January 15-18, 2009 at Hyderabad, India. Holding this event in India strengthens and enlarges our connectivity with the globe even more. We already have mutually useful tie-ups with colleagues in the US, Japan, Australia, several countries of the European Union, Singapore, Tunisia, and Mauritius, and the forthcoming Asia-ARVO, will help us gain a more global vision, an endeavor that ARVO has committed itself to in a variety of ways.

The last two Asia-ARVOs that Singapore had hosted have set high standards both in scientific exchange and in hospitality. These will serve as models to emulate and enhance. Hyderabad has fast grown to become the Singapore of India, and yet maintain the old world charm. Asia-ARVO 2009 will thus be a feast in more ways than one. Welcome!
